Three people detained in Tripura with heroin hidden in a soapbox: Police

Agartala: Three alleged drug dealers from Dharmanagar were taken into custody by the Tripura police on Friday. According to police, based on particular tips, the suspects were detained as they drove a fancy automobile into the state.

Police added that when they checked, they discovered heroin hidden in a soapbox.

Officer Mumtaz Hasina of the Dharmanagar police station said, “Police stopped the car as they entered the state and searched it to recover 12 grams of heroin.”

Police in Patharkandi, Assam, identified the three traffickers as Sihab Uddin (19), Suman Uddin (22), and Riyazul Uddin (25).

Hasina said that once all three were taken into custody, charges under the Narcotics, Drugs, and Psychotropic Substances Act were brought against them.
