Taiwan reported the presence of six naval warships and 36 Chinese aircraft

NEW DELHI: Taiwan has claimed that a record number of People’s Liberation Army military boats and Chinese aircraft are circling its borders. According to the Taiwan Ministry of Defence, the number of Chinese aircraft and Plan boats spotted in less than a day exceeded 36, which is a record.
As of this morning at six a.m. (UTC+8), 36 Pla aircraft and six Plan watercraft were seen operating in the Taiwan area.

Thirteen planes crossed into the northern and southwest ADIZ of Taiwan. According to a post on X, the Taiwan Ministry of Defence said, “#ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and employed appropriate forces to respond.”
Thirteen of these aircraft entered the air defence identification zone (Adiz) in Taiwan’s north and southwest. The Ministry attested to its alertness and reaction protocols. This comes after an earlier event in which 32 Chinese aircraft were found in less than a day. Thirteen of them went into the ADIZ.
The defence ministry of Taiwan reaffirmed the heightened military presence of China in the vicinity of Taiwan from September 2020, using “grey zone tactics” to exercise influence without using force. Grey zone tactics are methods of achieving security objectives that go beyond traditional deterrence.
Taiwan’s military forces have been keeping a close eye on these operations and have taken prompt action where necessary. The continuous tensions in the area are brought to light by the Ministry’s reports on Chinese military activities.
