Higher than other G20 countries, Indian universities have improved their QS rankings by 14%

Nunzio Quacquarelli, president of QS Quacquarelli Symonds, said that among all G20 countries, Indian institutions had seen the greatest performance increase. He went on to say that their average rating has improved by a noteworthy 14% over the previous year. According to the QS Subject Rankings, India now has the second-highest number of featured institutions in all of Asia, he said. China has taken the top position.

47 Institutes of Eminence (IoE) out of the 69 Indian universities that made it to the QS rankings, according to the data supplied,. India is now ranked 44th out of 55 countries in the QS Subject Rankings, with notable results in the fields of physics, computer science, chemistry, biological sciences, and business studies.

Moreover, India is now among the research hubs with the fastest global expansion. Its research production increased by a staggering 54% between 2017 and 2022, positioning it as the fourth-largest research producer globally, according to a LinkedIn post by Quacquarelli.

More than 1,500 institutions in 96 countries were included in the QS rankings. He said that it demonstrated distinction in five faculty areas and 55 academic courses.

Delhi University (DU), which ranked 220th internationally in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024, was acknowledged as the most sustainable university in India. On the scale, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Bombay came in at number 303. Other IITs followed, with IIT-Madras coming in at 344, IIT-Roorkee at 387, and IIT-Delhi at 426 in the world.
