Alcohol worth Rs 2.85L was recovered, and 12 people were detained

In the last 24 hours, the police have detained 12 people in connection with the importation of illegal alcohol in the Palwal and Faridabad districts. A total of Rs 2.85 lakh worth of liquor has been found.

According to Sube Singh, a police spokesman for Faridabad, a person at Bhagat Singh Chowk in this city had up to 20 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) taken from them yesterday evening. He stated that the culprit, Rahul, a villager from Anangpur, was transporting the alcohol in a pick-up truck when a police squad caught up with him after receiving a tip. Brands of booze valued at Rs 1.60 lakh were among those confiscated. The defendant was unable to provide any documentation pertaining to the alcohol that he had. The accused has been the subject of an Excise Act case.

In the meantime, 11 people were apprehended by the Palwal district police in a similar operation in relation to the recovery of illegal alcohol in 12 separate incidents since Monday. According to Sanjay Kumar, a police department spokesman, the cops found different amounts of alcohol during regular inspections that were hidden in bottles and coins.
