India Records 51 New Covid Cases, Bringing the Active Count Down to 1,712
According to statistics published on Friday by the Union Health Ministry, 51 new coronavirus infections have been reported in India, however there are now 1,712 fewer active cases than there were on Thursday (1,784).
The figures updated at 8 am showed that the death toll was 5,31,902, with one death each reported from Delhi and Rajasthan.
The total for the Covid case was 4.49 crore (4,49,93,817).
The website of the health ministry reports that the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.81%.
4,44,60,203 persons have recovered from the illness, and the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.18 percent. The website of the ministry reports that the country has now received 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine as part of the ongoing national immunization campaign.
