Mild Tremors Shake Uttarkashi After an Earthquake in Uttarakhand, No One Is Hurt

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported that Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, was shaken by an earthquake on Monday with a magnitude of 3.0 on the Richter scale. According to the NCS, the earthquake happened this morning at 8:35, and it hit at a depth of 5 kilometers.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.0, Occurred on 25-09-2023, 08:35:54 IST, Lat: 31.07 & Long: 77.98, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, India,” NCS reported on X.

A roadside wall that was under construction fell on the Gangotri National Highway in Uttarkashi on Sunday, killing one laborer and injuring another. When some workmen were constructing a buttress on the side of the road near the Pokhu Devta temple, the event, according to the police, occurred. Dil Bahadur Thapa (46) and Suman Thapa (38), two laborers who are both natives of Nepal, fell into a hole, according to the police.
