Easy Fish Stew Recipe That Bachelors Can Prepare in 20 Minutes at Home

A tasty and cozy meal that works well any time of year is fish stew. This flavor-filled stew is a satisfying way to get the health benefits of seafood. This recipe calls for mackerel fillets, beans, tomatoes, and a few simple ingredients to make a fast and simple fish stew.

If you’re a bachelor or have a busy evening and want to make a nutritious and filling dinner without spending a lot of time in the kitchen, this dish is ideal.

Ingredients: 4 fillets of mackerel
One can of washed and drained beans (cannellini or navy beans)
One can of chopped tomatoes
One sliced onion and two minced garlic cloves
One tsp of paprika
One teaspoon of thyme, dried
To taste, add salt and pepper.
Olive oil
Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

How to Get Ready
1. Get all of your components ready first. Mince the garlic, chop the onion, rinse and drain the beans, then open the tomato and bean cans.

2. Add a sprinkle of olive oil to a big saucepan that is heated over medium heat. In the saucepan, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for approximately 5 minutes, or until the onion is tender and translucent.

3. Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings: Add the dried thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper to the saucepan along with the diced tomatoes from the can (with their juices). After giving it a quick stir, reduce the heat to a simmer.

4. After the tomato mixture reaches a simmer, incorporate the washed and drained beans into the saucepan. To enable the flavors to merge together, boil the sauce for an additional five minutes after stirring everything together.

5. Gently lay the fillets of mackerel over the stew ingredients in the saucepan. When the fish is done and flakes readily with a fork, it should be cooked thoroughly, which should take five to seven minutes, depending on the cover on the pot.

6. Take the pot off of the burner as soon as the fish is done. If needed, taste the stew and adjust the spice. Garnish the steaming fish stew with finely chopped fresh parsley.

Expert Advice and Modifications
This stew is meant to be quick and easy to make. Because the components are canned, long cooking periods are not required. Still, you may improve the stew by adding extras like chopped veggies or eggs. Just make sure to boil the stew for the whole 20 minutes or so until these additional components are cooked.

Before adding the other ingredients, consider sautéing an onion in butter and curry powder to give the meal a little kick. This stage deepens the taste of the stew.

You may feed more people and stretch the meal by serving the stew with boiling spaghetti. Don’t forget to boil the pasta in a saucepan of salted water on its own.
