Martyr’s Day 2024: The Top 10 Inspirational Sayings of India’s Superb Freedom Fighter Bhagat Singh

Bhagat Singh was a prominent player in the Indian independence movement. His legacy is one of bravery and selflessness that will never wane. Born in Punjab in 1907, Bhagat Singh yearned for India to be liberated from British rule. He bravely battled for the rights of the oppressed and took part in several acts of resistance against colonial tyranny. The Lahore Conspiracy Case and the bombing of the Central Legislative Assembly were two of Bhagat Singh’s most well-known actions. Despite great hardship and persecution, Bhagat Singh never wavered in his commitment to the cause of liberty.

Sadly, on March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, then just 23 years old, was put to death for his role in the assassination of British constable John Saunders, along with his allies Rajguru and Sukhdev. For millions of Indians, Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice and undying loyalty to his nation serve as an inspiration to pursue freedom. He is regarded as a heroic and nationalistic figure. Every year on March 23, India celebrates Martyrs’ Day to honor him as a martyr.
