Thakur campus students in Mumbai are compelled to attend a campus presentation featuring Piyush Goyal’s son as a guest

MUMBAI: According to reports, union minister Piyush Goyal’s son, Dhruv Goyal, attended a lecture on Friday that Thakur College in Kandivali pushed its students to attend.
A student’s video has become widely popular on social media. While wishing the party well in the forthcoming elections, a student in the video said that their identification cards had been taken and they were forced to attend the session.

The student is also observed to be doubting the democratic nature of the method used to compel them to attend the seminar.
In the video, the college’s administrator acknowledged that the students had examinations on Saturday, but she nevertheless encouraged them to vote and attend the lecture. Goyal invited the kids to vote. “Your first vote will be a vote that is truly yours,” he added in his address. Refrain from allowing your siblings or parents to affect you. That vote is yours, and it ought to originate from the heart. You cannot lose it to anyone. I’m not here to urge you to support party X or party Y. Of course, I have prejudices.
Social media has been used by a number of individuals, including opposition politicians, to protest the way that students were coerced into attending the event. Some even fear that the kid who raised their hand during the incident might get a suspension.
Chaitaly Chakraborty, the college’s principal, was not available for comment. Colleges all around the city are launching awareness campaigns to encourage students to participate more in the election process, following an order from the University Grants Commission. The ‘Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye’ campaign has been requested to be launched by colleges. However, several students said that this is their test season.
