Vontimitta Rama Navami Brahmotsavams, an 11-day event, begins

Dwajarohanam kicked off the annual Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavams at Sri Kodanda Ramalayam in Vontimitta on Wednesday with great fanfare. The Pancharatra Agama’s Vedic chants resonated across the Vontimitta temple precincts.

In the middle of religious chanting, the Garuda flag was raised atop the temple pillar in the fortunate Mithuna Lagnam. By performing a certain raga and tala, each deity—including Asta Dikpalakas, Vishwaksena, and Panchabhutas—was placated and granted permission to participate in the mega-religious event. On Nadaswaram, ragas like Anandavardhana Ragam, Suruti Ragam, Nadanamakriya, and others were performed melodiously along with a variety of talams including Akhya talam, Varuna talam, Eka talam, Adi talam, Jampala talam, Bhringini talam, Rupaka talam, Gamdharva talam, and Nandi talam.

Speaking at the event, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Joint Executive Officer (JEO) Veerabrahmam announced that the heavenly Sita Rama Kalyanam would take place on April 22 from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. The yearly utsavams began in style.

During the Brahmotsavams, the TTD regularly provided hundreds of visiting devotees with delectable Annaprasadams. The devotees who came for darshan were regularly given buttermilk and drinking water. For the convenience of the worshipers, the TTD has installed coolers and German shelters on the temple grounds. Every day at 7 a.m. is breakfast, and from 6.30 to 7 p.m. are snacks such rice, sambar, rasam, buttermilk, green tea, curry, and sweet pongal. About fifty Annaprasadam department employees have been assigned by TTD to prepare mouthwatering treats in order to meet the demands of the devotees.

In contrast, the Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati celebrated the holiday of Sri Rama Navami with heavenly enthusiasm.

For the deities of Sri Sita Rama Lakshmana and Hanumantha, Snapana Tirumanjanam was also celebrated in the morning. During the Asthanam ceremony in the evening, Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy from Tirumala gave fresh Vastrams to the Utsava deities and the presiding god. In the evening, Lord Rama rode on Hanumanta Vahana, a heavenly vehicle.

As part of the Sri Rama Navami celebration, the Snapana Tirumanjanam honoring the deities of Sri Sita Lakshmana Anjaneya sameta Sri Ramachandra Murty was held on Wednesday at Ranganayakula Mandapam at Tirumala temple. EO AV Dharma Reddy, Tirumala Pontiff Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, and other authorities were in attendance.

The popularity of Srivari Sevaks’ voluntary work is growing.

Similar to Tirumala, the volunteer work of Srivari Sevaks at Vontimitta Sri Kodanda Ramalayam is becoming more and more well-known.

Hundreds of sevaks are eagerly volunteering to help fellow devotees in a variety of capacities, including distributing water and buttermilk, supervising pilgrims at the yearly Brahmotsavams at Vontimitta, and providing Annaprasadam.

All over Andhra Pradesh, the State festival of Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam in Vontimitta Kodanda Ramalayam has grown in popularity.

As a result, it is evident that the devotees are actively engaging in Srivari Sevaks, including those from Kurnool, Rajamahendravaram, and other districts in addition to Kadapa and Annamaiah.

Every day, the TTD requests the services of 500 sevaks, and on April 22, they will specifically draft 1,200 more for Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam.

Additionally, 300 more people are assigned to help with Talambralu preparations.
