Writing the future: A Keralan man’s incredible trip to the big screen

The inspirational journey of Abdul Rahim, who was given a death sentence in Saudi Arabia, and his moving story of hope and redemption are about to become immortalized on film, in a heartwarming turn of events.

Entrepreneur and benefactor Boby Chemmanur has declared his intention to create a movie that would follow Rahim’s path of hope.

Rahim, a resident of Feroke, Kozhikode, was found guilty in a case concerning the unintentional death of his sponsor’s kid, and he has been imprisoned in Saudi Arabia for the last 18 years.

Rahim wanted to assist, but tragically everything went wrong and he ended up being executed. But when the dead man’s relatives revealed they were demanding an astounding Rs 34 crore ransom to free Rahim, his tale took a drastically different turn.

Motivated by Rahim’s situation and the general generosity of the Malayali community, Boby Chemmanur led an effort to gather the money required for Rahim’s release from prison. The goal amount was successfully raised by unflinching compassion and unity, demonstrating the resilience of mankind in the face of hardship.

When discussing the next movie, Boby Chemmanur made it clear that its goal goes beyond simple amusement. The initiative is to highlight the Malayali community’s innate decency and compassion while demonstrating their togetherness throughout difficult times. The movie is meant to serve as a tribute to the generosity and solidarity of the Malayali people, not as a business endeavor. We spoke with director Blessy about the proposal,” he said.

Boby showed kindness by revealing that all movie proceeds will go toward supporting the Boche Charitable Trust’s relief efforts and advancing the organization’s goal of helping people in need.

But despite the excitement over Rahim’s imminent release, focus has also shifted to Nimisha Priya, who is being held captive in Yemen and is about to be executed.

Boby said that inquiries are underway to determine Priya’s innocence and reaffirmed his dedication to humanitarian causes.

Regardless of one’s religion or cultural background, he emphasized the need of upholding justice and fairness in all undertakings.
