4.053 MW were used by Hyderabad on April 18

As early as April of this year, the Greater Hyderabad area’s electricity consumption exceeded 4,000 MW. The greatest electricity demand in GHMC was 3,756 MW on May 19, 2023. On April 1, 2024, a demand of 3,832 MW exceeded this amount. Demand was even greater on April 18, 2024, with 4,053 MW reported.

The authorities were able to provide all consumer categories with continuous electricity, even with the daily rise in demand. To avoid any power supply interruptions, maintenance was finished in January.

According to officials, this year’s electricity consumption has increased by 16–20% over the previous three years. In March 2023, the growth was 2.5% over March 2022, while in April 2023, it was 1.81 percent over April 2022. Nonetheless, in April of this year, consumption climbed by 17.59 percent while demand increased by 16.11 percent.

We have been resuming any power outages that may have occurred in the city on a war-footing basis. Every employee is always monitoring the situation to better serve the customers. Because of this, there has been a rise in the demand for electricity, as stated on Thursday by TSSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Ali Faruqui.
