A BJP politician was discovered in Coimbatore with Rs. 81,000 in missing cash

On Wednesday night, local BJP leaders were found in possession of Rs 81,000 in unauthorized cash by Election Flying Squad personnel serving the Pollachi Lok Sabha seat.

Given that party officials had a large amount of unexplained cash on hand along with the voter list, it is assumed that they were part of a scheme to provide money to the voters. In addition, the seizure followed a car check that was initiated in response to a report about purported money distribution to voters.

As per the authorities, on Wednesday evening, Deputy Commercial Tax Officer Pushpadevi’s election Flying Squad team III from the Thondamuthur assembly segment of the Pollachi Lok Sabha constituency got a tip regarding the purported distribution of cash to voters in the vicinity of a tea stall in Pooluvapatti village, which is close to Alandurai.

The authorities strengthened the vehicle inspection in light of the information. They stopped and examined a sport utility vehicle at around eleven o’clock at night.

The unexplained amount of Rs 81,000 was taken by officials from BJP Alandurai Mandal president R Jothimani, 37. He’s been employed at TNSTC. Officials said that an investigation was ongoing as the cash and papers, which included the voter list that had been taken from the car, were turned over to the Perur Tahsildar office.
