Chandigarh firing case: three are placed on a four-day NIA remand

Three defendants in an alleged firing case have been placed on four-day NIA detention by the local NIA court.

The accused, Amritpal Singh, also known as Gujjar, Gurvinder Singh Laddy, and Kamalpreet Singh, were brought before the court by the NIA, which requested a six-day detention.

On January 19, this year, several people opened fire at a businessman’s residence in Sector 5, leading the police to file a complaint.

The businessman’s automobile was struck by gunfire.

The NIA said that mobster Goldy Brar had called the complainant in an attempt to get money. His assistants scared him with gunfire when he refused to pay.

Later, at the MHA’s request, the NIA assumed control of the matter.

The accused’s attorneys, Sandeep Gujjar and Amarjit Singh, objected to the remand, arguing that the police had already taken their remand.
