A speeding vehicle crushes a pedestrian

The man was heading back to his lodging at Kumarhatti yesterday night when he was plowed over by a fast vehicle with a Punjabi plate number.

SP Lal Chand, a native of Musalmana hamlet close to Dharampur, was struck by the speeding vehicle from behind first, according to Solan Gaurav Singh, and his skull was crushed beneath a front tire.

A police investigation is now in progress about the truck driver, who is the subject of a case under Sections 279 and 304-A of the IPC.

When the incident happened, Lal Chand was walking back to his room after seeing his son at Kumarhatti.
