‘AAP Delhi office locked,’ claims Atishi, bringing up a matter with the EC

Senior leader Atishi stated on Saturday that the AAP office in Delhi has been “sealed off” from all sides and that the party would bring the issue up with the Election Commission.

 

Atishi questioned the “sealing” of the party office in a post on X, arguing that it goes against the “level playing field” that the Constitution guarantees.

The Delhi minister said in her tweet, “We are requesting time with the Election Commission (EC) to file a complaint against this.

Saurabh Bharadwaj, a minister in Delhi and another prominent AAP politician, said that the national government had blocked all access to the party headquarters.

“We will approach EC, the central government has closed all access to AAP head office at ITO, that too in Model Code of Conduct,” he said in a post on X.

On Friday, as party leaders and volunteers were protesting against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s detention at the BJP headquarters, which was just a few meters away, the AAP office at DDU Marg in ITO in central Delhi was also blocked.

The Delhi chief minister was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in relation to a money-laundering case involving the now-canceled excise policy in Delhi. He was placed under detention in the agency’s custody till March 28.

Despite many searches, the ED has not been able to establish a money trail against any AAP leader, said Atishi.
