According to former chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, no opposition leader shares Modi’s vision

The head of the opposition, Jai Ram Thakur, said today that the Lok Sabha elections were crucial because they would choose a government that would strengthen the country, bring its citizens together around shared objectives, and advocate for India’s interests abroad.

Speaking at the Dalhousie block’s Panna Pramukh sammelan, Thakur praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a leader unmatched by any member of the opposition parties.

The Prime Minister’s capacity to accomplish the targets within the allotted time period is something that the country believes in, he said, underscoring Narendra Modi’s emphasis on growing India.

Thakur drew a comparison between the self-serving goals of opposition leaders and Modi’s forward-thinking vision for the country’s growth. “Leaders of the Congress are focused on improving the interests of their families, whereas Modiji’s purpose is to offer education, housing, jobs, sanitation, self-reliance, free power, free ration and improved infrastructure to every Indian,” the speaker said.

He made fun of the Himachal Congress, saying that its leaders didn’t appear to care about running for office. “As soon as someone’s name appears in the media, they immediately go to Delhi and decline to run for office. Rather, he offers two or three names as a way out of the political fray,” he said. Rajeev Bhardwaj, the BJP contender for the Kangra Lok Sabha constituency, was present at the event as well.
