Sword-wielding man commits four stabbing deaths and four injuries in London

In a “serious incident” near an east London Tube station on Tuesday, a man brandishing a sword crashed a car into a house and then proceeded to stab people, killing a 13-year-old child and injuring four others before being taken into custody, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Of the five wounded, one youngster passed away from his wounds and the other two, including two police officers, are still hospitalized after the assault in the city’s Hainault neighborhood, according to the police, who also said that the event did not seem to be connected to “any act of terrorism.”

“After being stabbed, a 13-year-old boy was brought to the hospital and tragically passed away soon after.” Local police are helping the child’s family, and they now have some specialized officers with them, according to a statement from Met Police Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell. He verified that the 36-year-old suspect, who is still being held, was tasered 22 minutes after the first report.

Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of Britain, called it a “shocking incident” and said that such violence should not exist on the nation’s streets.

This occurrence is startling. My sympathies are with the impacted individuals and their families. Sunak added, “I would like to express my gratitude to the emergency services for their prompt response and to the police for their extraordinary bravery.” He said, “Such violence has no place on our streets.”
