According to LS Polls, the two biggest issues facing Western India are inflation and Hindutva

In anticipation of the Lok Sabah Elections 2024, TIMES NOW has been touring the nation to find out what matters most to voters in these surveys. As people get ready to exercise their right to vote in seven phases of polling beginning on April 19, these topics will shape the course of the elections.

Hindutva, unemployment, nationalism, and inflation are the top concerns for voters in the Western area, which includes Gujarat and Maharahstra, according to TIMES NOW-ETG Research’s study, which was conducted with two days left for the first phase.

According to 22% of respondents in the TIMES NOW-ETG Research study, inflation is their top worry for the next elections. However, 21% of respondents said that Hindutva is their top concern, while 16% indicated that unemployment was their third most significant concern.

15% of voters say nationalism is the primary issue influencing how they will vote, while 14% of people say growth is their top worry.

Aside from these, polarization and corruption were the main concerns for 7% and 3% of respondents, respectively, while 2% of voters cited other significant problems that they felt were critical to the elections.

How 2019 Voted in Maharashtra and Gujarat
The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) had an incredible 2019 in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state, winning all 26 Lok Sabha seats.

Whereas Shiv Sena, which was then undivided, emerged as the second-largest party in the state with 16 seats, the BJP secured the majority of seats in Maharashtra by capturing 23 of the 48 Lok Sabah constituencies. All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), the Congress, the Independent, and the NCP (when undivided) each gained one seat.
