At KS Eshwarappa’s roadshow in Shivamogga, the Modi twin shines

The independent candidate KS Eshwarappa is facing charges of using PM Modi’s picture during his election campaign. On Friday, the former deputy chief minister surprised thousands of his supporters by coming to the city to file his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections with a man who looked like Modi.

The Modi impersonator Sadananda Nayak is from the Bommarabettu hamlet in the Hiriyadka town in the Udupi district. He began working as a cook after quitting school. Nayak participated in a grand procession led by Rashtrabhaktara Balaga, who is endorsing Eshwarappa in the Lok Sabha election for Shivamogga.

The march included a sizable number of supporters from the Byndoor Assembly seat as well as from other areas of the region.

Nayak led Eshwarappa on a march around the city, stealing the show. Nayak raised his folded hands in support of Eshwarappa and waved to the gathering. During the parade, fans of Eshwarappa waved banners with the image of Modi on them while shouting chants in his favor.

After submitting his nomination papers, Eshwarappa said, “After winning the Shivamogga Lok Sabha seat, I will go to New Delhi and take the blessings of PM Modi and support him.”
