BJP chief: AAP and Congress are refusing women’s representation

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress, according to Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva on Monday, have shown an anti-women’s empowerment position by refusing to provide any Lok Sabha seats in Delhi to female candidates.

Sachdeva said at a press conference: “The INDIA bloc has failed to nominate any women candidate for the Delhi Lok Sabha elections, despite the Center’s active promotion of women’s participation in sports, the military, and administrative services, as well as the introduction of the Women Empowerment Act-2023 to ensure increased political representation for women.”

In compliance with the Women Empowerment Act, he added, the BJP announced two female candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Delhi.

Sachdeva went on to criticize Kejriwal and the Congress for their respective records on women’s representation. “Lalu and Akhilesh Yadav, the coalition partners of Arvind Kejriwal, have put pressure on the Congress leadership to remain silent on women’s rights, and over the past ten years, women have been underrepresented in his party and government,” he said.

claims that AAP is “undermining” Hindu sentiments.

Virendra Sachdeva, the head of the Delhi BJP, also chastised the AAP administration for ‘undermining Hindu emotions’ by ordering temples to be demolished during Navratri.

At a news conference, Sachdeva said, “It is unfortunate for Delhi that there is a government here that plays with the faith of Hindus to please a particular community.”

On the directive of PWD Minister Atishi, efforts were taken today to destroy two temples located in West Delhi. It is a purposeful attempt to undermine Hindu feelings and peace to do this during Navratri, when people are committed to fasting and prayer, according to Sachdeva.
