Chandrababu Naidu won’t get any relief as the court remands him for 14 days

In relation to the alleged skill development scam, the Vijayawada ACB court on Sunday sentenced TDP Chief and Chandrababu Naidu to 14 days of judicial imprisonment till September 23.

In front of 30 people, the verdict was delivered. The non-bailable provision had been deemed unworkable by the court, who had already rejected the bail petition.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detained former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday in connection with the Skill Development Corporation scandal.

The first stop for Naidu will be the SIT headquarters in Vijayawada. Then, early on Monday morning, he would be transferred to Rajahmundry. In effect till September 12 in Rajahmundry and Mangalagiri is Section 144.

Naidu’s legal team said that they are awaiting a copy of the ruling and would seek for his bail at the ACB court today if it is granted today.

The TDP leader’s team said that there was no non-bailable warrant against N Chandrababu Naidu in an interview with a reporter before to the verdict. His team also asserted that the arrest was unjustified.

Naidu has been charged with a number of offenses under sections 120(b), 166, 167, 418, 420, 465, 468, 201, and 109 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as 34 and 37. He is also facing accusations under the Prevention of Corruption Act of 1988.
