Chicago-Based Telangana Student Missing ‘Was Going to Meet Someone in Texas’ since May 2

Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi, an Indian student from Telangana, has allegedly been missing in Chicago since May 2. The Indian Consulate General in the US city said that they are in communication with the Indian community and the police in an effort to “reestablish contact” with the 25-year-old.

Chintakindi is reportedly taking a master’s degree at Concordia University in Wisconsin, according to a Times of India story.

According to a story on M9.news, Chintakindi completed his civil engineering degree at SR Engineering College in Warangal after completing his education at Hanamkonda.

According to Kanukuntla PremKumar, an X user claiming to be Chintakindi’s brother, the 25-year-old has been absent for the last five days. In his article, he even mentioned S. Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs.

According to the TOI report, Chintakindi was reported missing from his residence in Chicago’s 4300 block of N. Sheridan Road. In a notice, the Chicago police asked anyone with information on the whereabouts of the 25-year-old to contact them.

According to the magazine, on May 2 afternoon, the student’s father, Ch Sadanandam, who lives in the Hanamkonda area, had a conversation with his son over WhatsApp. In response, he said he was working. He was reported as saying, “Later on, I was unable to get in touch with him and he is offline.”

The father was informed by Chintakindi’s roommates that he would be meeting a visitor from Texas, according to reports the family received. The family was cited as saying, “He went to meet them, but we do not know who they are.”

As to the report, Sadanandam wrote to G. Kishan Reddy, the Union minister, pleading with him to assist in finding the 25-year-old.

According to the journal, on May 8, the office of Kishan Reddy, the Indian government’s minister for culture, tourism, and the development of the northeast, sent a letter to the ministry of external affairs pleading with CGI Chicago to assist in locating the missing rupee.

Sadanandam was further cited by TOI as stating that Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi’s disappearance was reported to the Chicago police. The US Embassy was also contacted by the family.
