Before deciding to introduce AIADMK in India, DMK would be consulted: Sharad Pawar

DMK or its leader MK Stalin would be contacted before any decision is made about the inclusion of AIADMK in the INDIA coalition, according to Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar on Tuesday.

The AIADMK declared on Monday that it was leaving the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and that it will head a separate front for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, breaking its four-year relationship with the BJP.

“The DMK is a member of the alliance partners from India. When asked if attempts would be made to bring AIADMK within the INDIA bloc, Pawar informed reporters that no decision relating to this will be made without contacting DMK or Stalin.

The Bharatiya Janta Party-led NDA will be challenged by the INDIA alliance, a coalition of 28 opposition parties, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
