BJP attacks Himachal Pradesh government for “hiking” gasoline and transit charges

Danvender Singh, the co-media in-charge for the BJP in the state, said that the current Congress administration had raised the price of fuel and raised taxes on power and bus tickets.

He claimed that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had said that the state was expecting to earn Rs 11,000 crore in revenue from the government, but the Congress was attempting to do this by raising the cost of necessities.

In the Assembly, the government also approved a bill to impose a water cess on hydropower projects, but the High Court subsequently ruled that the bill was illegal.

“In this regard, I would like to inquire of the Congress government: what present has it made to the people so far in its tenure? How much assistance has the general populace gotten from the government’s economic measures? inquired Danvender.
