CM Revanth Reddy asks, “Why is KCR Silent on Daughter’s Arrest?”

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday referred to the arrest of BRS leader K Kavitha in a money-laundering case as a “soap opera” and questioned why previous Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao remained mute on the matter.

Speaking at a news conference, Reddy questioned what the Prime Minister of Telangana has accomplished in the previous 10 years and suggested that KCR and Prime Minister Narendra Modi put an end to these “political dramas.”

He said that while the BRS would use the arrest as a political football, the BJP is attempting to position itself as a leader in the fight against corruption.

In regards to the liquor issue, the family of former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the BJP are staging a play akin to soap operas and TV serials. With yesterday’s arrest, the drama that has been unfolding for a few years came to a head. What does this suggest regarding the dramatic arrest one day before to the vote timetable announcement? These individuals (BRS) want to elicit sympathy, and they (the BJP) want to be seen as leaders against corruption. In response to the arrest, the CM said, “Both are engaging in a calculated political ploy.

Kavitha, the daughter of KCR, the head of the BRS, was detained by the Enforcement Directorate on Friday in Hyderabad as part of a money-laundering investigation related to the Delhi excise policy fraud case.

“They used to warn that the ED would come after Modi in the past. However, Modi and the ED arrived yesterday on the same day,” he said, claiming that some agencies were functioning as BJP front organizations.

He said that Kavitha was detained one day before the polls in order to profit politically for the BJP and the BRS. On Friday, PM Modi conducted a roadshow in Hyderabad.

According to him, the Congress party is being targeted by the BJP and the BRS for using “cheap political tactics,” as many polls suggest that the establishment party will win 12 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats available.

“We have our plans (to nix them) if anyone tries to topple the Congress government in the state,” Revanth Reddy said. The next 10 years will see our government in office.

In response to a question, he said that his party opposes both the repeal of the Minority Reservation Act and the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
