Prideful march of the all-female Tri-service contingent at Kartavya Path

On Friday, Kartavya Path saw the might of the all-women Tri-Services contingent made up of Agniveers as India commemorated its 75th Republic Day.

The 75th Republic Day is centred on the themes of “Viksit Bharat” and “Nari Shakti.”
The ladies from the Tri-Services contingent stand for cooperation, honesty, and unity within the services. For the first time, a group of female troops from all three services is proudly and eloquently participating in the Republic Day parade. “Seva Tatha Sahayata” is the motto of the Tri Service women contingent.

Women troops from the Army, Navy, and Air Force’s Corps of Military Police make up the contingent. Women military police have been assigned to a variety of units and facilities in the desert, high altitude areas, Siachen glacier, and counterinsurgency areas. They have given outstanding performances in a number of UN missions and joint exercises.
Captain Sandhya of the Military Police oversaw the contingent of women from Tri services, and three supernumerary officers—Capt Shranya Rao, Sub Lt Anshu Yadav, and Flt Lt Shrishti Rao—were included in the group.

They have taken part in extreme sports like Sky Diving and the Shwet Ashwa Motorcycle Display Team with great enthusiasm. Following the launch of the Agnipath project, 1100 Women Agniveers in the Army and 450 Agniveer Vayu in the Air Force have finished their training and been incorporated into a variety of branches and crafts.
Earlier, at Kartavya Path, President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag to kick off the 75th Republic Day festivities on Friday.
PM Narendra Modi greeted President Murmu as she arrived at Kartavya Path.

The 21 Gun Salute was given to the President and the National Anthem was performed simultaneously.
The President’s Bodyguard, “Rashtrapati Ke Angrakshak,” accompanied President Murmu and her French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, who is the principal guest at this year’s Republic Day ceremony.

The Indian Army’s most senior regiment is called the President’s Bodyguard. For this elite regiment, Republic Day is particularly significant since it marks the regiment’s 250th year of service since its founding in 1773.

Following a 40-year hiatus, the “Traditional Buggy” was once again used to transport the two Presidents to Kartavya Path.
