Congress gives Sura Routray a standing ovation for her campaign

The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) served veteran Congressman and current Jatni MLA Suresh Kumar Routray a showcause notice on Sunday for declaring he will run for the BJD’s Lok Sabha seat in Bhubaneswar on behalf of his son Manmath.

Santosh Singh Saluja, the head of the OPCC disciplinary committee, has sent Routray a notice requesting that he respond to it within 24 hours explaining why he shouldn’t be punished for his anti-party actions.

The seasoned Congressman, who has said that he would not run for office again, was seen on Saturday advocating for pilot Manmath in many areas of the Bhubaneswar North Assembly constituency.

In a park, Routray was seen interacting with people and urging them to support his kid. On Sunday, he was seen conducting his son’s campaign in many Bhubaneswar constituencies. Routray, a six-term member of parliament representing the Jatni seat, has been a part of the Congress since 1980.
