Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Fadnavis promises to address the demands of the Maratha community

On Thursday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the administration is working to give the Marathas their due and that attempts are in progress to provide them reservations.

On Thursday, on the festival of Kartiki Ekadashi, a group from the Maratha community met with Fadnavis at Pandharpur town in the Solapur district. There, the deputy chief minister and his spouse conducted a puja at the temple dedicated to Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini.

The community has called for reservations in government employment and educational opportunities.

“I have assured the Maratha community that the state government is positive towards their demands,” Fadnavis said in a post on X. Eknath Shinde, the chief minister, has promised to provide the community reservations. We fully back him from here on out.

“The problem will undoubtedly be resolved. The Maratha community is being given reservations, he said.

The delegation also urged that the state government set aside land for the building of Maratha Bhavan in Pandharpur, the establishment of Annasaheb Patil Arthik Vikas Mahamandal and SARTHI sub-centers, and the building of a student hostel in the town of the temple.

The Maharashtra government founded the independent Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI) to further the social, economic, and educational advancement of the Maratha and Maratha-Kunbi communities.

According to Fadnavis, the state administration is amenable to all of these requests.

Within the following fifteen days, the delegation wishing to build Maratha Bhavan and a hostel may see the land pieces that are available from the Solapur district collector. The place that the delegation prefers will be allocated by the government. Before the next monsoon, we will also begin building,” he said.
