Danish Ali writes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding “Strict Punishment” for Ramesh Bidhuri’s racial epithets

Danish Ali, a member of the BSP, requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday to issue a public statement denouncing Ramesh Bidhuri’s behavior and ensuring “suitable punishment” for the BJP MP amid a controversy over his insulting comments made by Bidhuri in the Lok Sabha. On Thursday, Bidhuri was handed a significant election responsibility in Rajasthan’s Tonk district.

Ali also urged in a letter to the prime minister that his security be increased due to a “escalation of threats” against him. According to Ali, the recent episode at the extraordinary session of Parliament was an assault on the “very essence of democracy” as well as him personally.

Ali said that Bidhuri used “inappropriate language” while alluding to the prime minister during his statement, despite the fact that Modi was not present in the House. “Even if it was in a quote, I objected to the usage of such language in reference to the Prime Minister.
