Danish Ali writes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding “Strict Punishment” for Ramesh Bidhuri’s racial epithets

Danish Ali, a member of the BSP, requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday to issue a public statement denouncing Ramesh Bidhuri’s behavior and ensuring “suitable punishment” for the BJP MP amid a controversy over his insulting comments made by Bidhuri in the Lok Sabha. On Thursday, Bidhuri was handed a significant election responsibility in Rajasthan’s Tonk district.

Ali also urged in a letter to the prime minister that his security be increased due to a “escalation of threats” against him. According to Ali, the recent episode at the extraordinary session of Parliament was an assault on the “very essence of democracy” as well as him personally.

Ali said that Bidhuri used “inappropriate language” while alluding to the prime minister during his statement, despite the fact that Modi was not present in the House. “Even if it was in a quote, I objected to the usage of such language in reference to the Prime Minister. It is clear from the House procedures that no members of the governing party raised a concern about my opposition to the use of unparliamentary language against you.

“However, when I stood and called your attention to Bidhuri’s improper words, he became agitated and responded angrily, presumably realizing his error. To distract the House’s attention, he started making very nasty assaults on me on the House floor, according to the BSP MP.

In addition, Ali said that since the September 21 event, there has been an ongoing campaign to harm his character and spread false allegations. In his letter to the prime minister, Ali said that “certain unidentified individuals are persistently sending me threatening and menacing messages.” “In addition to Bidhuri’s threat to confront me outside Parliament, in a manner more akin to a street altercation than a parliamentary setting,” Ali wrote.

Ali made a number of requests of the prime minister, including that he issue a public statement from his office denouncing such conduct and reiterating the dedication to upholding the highest standards of parliamentary processes, as well as guaranteeing stern punishment against Bidhuri.

The BJP MP referred to Danish Ali as a “Muslim ugrawadi” (Muslim terrorist), a “Bharwa” (pimp), and a “katwa” (circumcised) at the just finished special session of the parliament. He was also given a show-cause notice by the BJP.
