Delhi: Common entrance for Class 10 and 12 admissions will be held by the education department

The Common Admission Test (CAT) will be used by the Directorate of Education to admit pupils to Classes 10 and 12 in government institutions.

Applications will be available starting on April 18 and forms must be received by April 30. On May 7, the admission card will be sent out, and on May 9, the CAT.

According to the timetable, the results will be announced on May 14 and the relevant HoS has until May 21 to submit papers for DDE (district) clearance.

The candidate must have completed class 11 in the requested subjects as a normal student in 2023–2024 at an accredited school in order to be admitted to class 12. Additionally, he has to have received the minimum number of points in class 10 needed for the applicant’s chosen stream.

Students may apply to the Humanities program without taking any skill courses if they have completed their secondary examination (class 10) from NIOS with a cumulative grade of at least 55% in their five major topics.

A 5% mark relaxation in any of the three courses specified for admission to a specific class 12 stream will be granted to applicants who fall under the SC/ST/OBC/Minorities/Kashmiri immigrant categories, as well as pupils who place I, II, or III in national games.

In the meanwhile, children with exceptional needs must get a 55-point relaxation in all courses listed in order to be admitted to a specific class 12 stream.

The letter states that all applications for admit cards must be sent by May 1st to the relevant DDE or Nodal incharge by the school heads.

Additionally, the Director of Education may, at his discretion, modify the upper age restriction for any worthy student based on factors such the student’s trauma, extended sickness of either parent or kid, or interruption of studies owing to the death of one of the parents.
