Delhi: To promote its message, the BJP is organizing street plays

The Delhi BJP intends to use “nukkad natak,” or English-language street dramas, to engage urban voters and highlight the accomplishments of the NDA administration headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the federal level.

Party organizers said that over 8,000 street performances and programs will be presented by up to 163 groups of artists over the course of 23 days beginning on May 1 in each of the seven parliamentary seats.

A senior party official informed this publication, “The National School of Drama is the organization that trained these 163 teams.” He said that the concerts’ main goal would be to spread the BJP’s message to residents of well-known marketplaces as well as unofficial colonies, slums, and villages.

The BJP will be holding a variety of activities to inject some diversity into the campaign, such as poetry readings, magic shows, puppet shows, music band performances, and even flash mobs. According to a BJP official, these activities would not only provide entertainment but also draw attention to the alleged “corruption and misrule” in the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP administration in the city.

Every segment of society is impacted by street plays, and since Delhi is a multicultural city, this time they are also featuring some acts in regional and English languages. Senior party officials would be present when this cultural campaign kicks off on May 1, according to Delhi BJP chairman Virendra Sachdeva.

Additionally, on April 21 at the IGI stadium, the party—through the Mandir Prakoshth, the BJP temple cell—will host a concert with devotional singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi, who will sing about a “developed” India.

The Delhi branch of the BJP started a QR campaign earlier this month with the goal of reaching young people. The program was carried out in parks, gyms, and other venues frequented by young people.

An official from the BJP said, “The campaign, called ‘Modi’s Transforming Bharat Campaign,’ has 40 slides outlining the national-level achievements of the BJP in the last ten years.”

Among other things, it includes the repeal of Article 370, the building of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, actions made to empower women, and skill development.

With the exception of Manoj Tiwari from the North East Delhi constituency, the party has replaced every current member. The election is scheduled on May 25.
