“Derogatory remarks”: KCR requests a week to reply to the notification from ECI

BRS leader and former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao responded to a notice from the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday, asking for a week to provide an explanation in response to the alleged “vulgar, derogatory and objectionable” remarks he made against the Congress and its leaders.

We got a letter from KCR requesting an additional week, with a list of reasons. He sent a direct letter to ECI, of which we received a copy. The letter has also been sent to the ECI. State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj said that the ECI must make a decision on this. Vice-president of the TPCC, G Niranjan, filed a complaint with the ECI on April 6, claiming that KCR had made offensive, vulgar, and insulting statements against the Congress on April 5 during a news conference in Sircilla.

There is no grievance with Madhavi Latha.

The CEO, in the in the meantime, said that they had not received any complaints on a contentious video purporting to show BJP candidate for Hyderabad, K. Madhavi Latha, shooting arrows at a mosque during the Rama Navami parade. “We will investigate the matter and take appropriate legal action as soon as we receive a complaint from anyone,” Vikas Raj said.
