Driver detained in Navi Mumbai for gasoline theft from a tanker

According to an official on Monday, the news agency, police have detained a 34-year-old tanker driver in the Navi Mumbai township of Maharashtra on suspicion of stealing gasoline from the truck.

Following a tip, police searched a Vashi parking lot early on Sunday morning. They discovered the accused taking gasoline from the fuel tanker and putting it in cans and other containers, according to a police spokeswoman.

According to the official, the accused was stealing the gasoline in order to sell it in the market, and the petrol tanker was scheduled to go to Vasai in the nearby Palghar district.

According to the report, the police confiscated a motorcycle, cans of gasoline that were carried in two tempos, and a tanker, all with a combined worth of Rs 10.60 lakh.

The driver, who is from Uttar Pradesh, was taken into custody as two other suspects in the crime were being sought, according to reports.

According to the police, a complaint was filed against the defendants in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, the Motor Spirit & High-Speed Diesel (Regulation of Supply & Distribution and Prevention of Malpractices) Order, and the Indian Penal Code.

According to an official on Monday, police have filed a complaint against the owner of a clothing store in Navi Mumbai for allegedly harassing a 34-year-old lady client in a sexual manner.

On March 9, the victim went to the 36-year-old accused’s store in the Airoli neighborhood.

According to a police station officer from Rabale, the accused reportedly grabbed her improperly and harassed her sexually while she was swapping clothes.

A case under Indian Penal Code Section 354A (sexual harassment) was filed against the accused on Sunday based on the woman’s allegation, according to reports.

The official said that the accused has been given a notice to appear before the police whenever it is necessary to be questioned.
