ED informs the court that Kejriwal’s use of high-sugar cuisine while having Type 2 diabetes is grounds for release

ED alleged in front of a court here on Thursday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was detained in an excise fraud case, was consuming sugar-rich foods like mangoes and sweets every day despite having Type 2 diabetes. This was done in order to establish grounds for medical release.

The ED made the accusation in front of Kaveri Baweja, the special court handling CBI and ED cases. Baweja ordered the Tihar prison officials to provide a report on the case, which included Kejriwal’s diet plan.

Because of his fluctuating blood sugar levels, Kejriwal has urged the court to request permission to visit his regular doctor via video conference.

The judge ordered the relevant authorities to provide the report by tomorrow, when the court is probably going to reopen the case.

“Arvind Kejriwal, who has type 2 diabetes, consumes foods rich in sugar. He eats “aloo poori,” or mango sweets, every day. “This action aims to establish justification for medical bail,” ED informed the judge.
