At the Chandigarh airport, Prem Singh Chandumajra pledges a freight terminal

Sahib Prem Singh Chandumajra, a Shiromani Akali Dal candidate from Anandpur, said that if elected to Parliament this time, he would establish a cargo terminal at the Chandigarh airport to enable the export of fresh produce, fruits, and milk from Punjab to help the region’s farmers.

Chandumajra also organized a road show from Mohali to Anandpur Sahib. Chandumajra began his election campaign after his obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib.

In order to maximize advantages for the state’s merchants and farmers, he pledged to put pressure on the Center to reopen the borders of Attari and Hussainiwala for commerce and transit. During his final tenure in 2014–19, the former Anandpur Sahib MP also claimed to have secured a gas pipeline for his constituency and placed Chandigarh airport on the world map.

Taking a jab at the Congress for taking so long to reveal the identity of Anandpur Sahib’s nominee, he said the party was afraid to do so because of the uncomfortable circumstances caused by its two former MPs. Pointing to Manish Tiwari and Ravneet Singh Bittu, he said that the winner on a Congress ticket will leave to run in a different constituency the next time.

He claimed to have achieved a significant victory margin and said that Punjabis now realized that SAD could only serve to further their interests and that AAP had given control of the state to those seated in Delhi.
