Elections for five municipal corporations in Punjab will take place in November
An official announcement states that elections for five municipal corporations in Punjab would take place during the first two weeks of November.
Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, and Phagwara are the names of these five municipal corporations.
The Punjab Governor is pleased to direct that the general elections to elect the members of municipal corporations mentioned in this notification be held within the first fortnight of November 2023, in accordance with the authority granted by Section 7-A of the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976, according to the notification.
In Punjab, there will also be elections for 39 nagar panchayats and municipal councils between November 1 and November 15. In August, a notice to this effect was released.
