Ferozepur: Assets worth Rs 76L seized from drug dealer

The police have frozen a drug smuggler’s assets worth Rs 76.55 lakh in an effort to tighten the noose on those who operate in this area.

SSP Saumya Mishra revealed the information while revealing that the police had frozen the assets and properties of a drug smuggler named as Sukhchain Singh, also known as Sonu, a Bhakhra native. According to the SSP, the accused was arrested by the police in 2012 when 500 grams of heroin were found in the Chabbal police station in the Tarn Taran area. The arrests were made under the NDPS Act.

“His residential property valued at Rs 72.48 lakh was sealed by the police, along with a pickup van valued at Rs 3.52 lakh and a frozen bank account containing Rs 55,375,” the spokesperson said.
