Fully Aware Of Your Self-Professed Honesty: Punjab Chief Minister Mann’s Dig at Manpreet Badal of the BJP

On Thursday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that he is well aware of the “theatricals, couplets, and self-proclaimed honesty” of the former finance minister, days after BJP leader Manpreet Singh Badal appeared before the Vigilance Bureau in a land dispute.

Sarup Chand Singla, a former MLA, filed a complaint alleging irregularities in the acquisition of a home in a desirable Bathinda neighborhood, and Badal was subsequently called.

Singla, who defected from the Shiromani Akali Dal to the BJP, said that Badal had misused his position as a minister by turning business properties into homes for himself. In a statement, Mann said that the former minister’s “misdeeds” were known across Punjab.

Mann said that Badal, who served as Punjab’s finance minister for a considerable amount of time, “is hand-in-glove with the elements who ruined the state.” “…the brazen loot of public money was allowed” during his tenure, he said.

The AAP leader said that the former minister spent the state’s funds as he pleased, without regard for the general welfare of the population. I’m fully aware of the former minister’s theatricals, couplets, and claim to be an honest man. I am fully aware of his temper tantrums about wanting to drive his own car and pay the toll charge, but the truth is quite different,” Mann remarked.

Badal, who had previously been a member of the Congress, had charged Mann of seeking to silence his political rivals via vigilante action. Badal had said that Mann shouldn’t see him in the same light as Amrinder Raja Warring, the head of the Congress’ Punjab branch, and had emphasized that he would never bow down to the AAP leader.
