Gold worth Rs 6.46 crore and diamonds concealed in noodle packages were found at the Mumbai airport; four were arrested

Mumbai: According to an official, the Customs department has found gold disguised in passenger and luggage body parts and diamonds hidden in packets of noodles, with a total estimated value of Rs 6.46 crore, at the Mumbai airport. In a statement released late Monday night, the Customs official said that four passengers had been detained after the discovery of over 6.815 kg of gold valued at Rs 4.44 crore and diamonds valued at Rs 2.02 crore over the weekend.

When the Indian citizen was stopped on his way from Mumbai to Bangkok, it was discovered that he was smuggling diamonds inside his trolley bag, hidden among packs of noodles.
Later, the officer added, the passenger was taken into custody.

He added that a foreign person was stopped while traveling from Colombo to Mumbai and discovered to be in possession of gold bars and a chopped piece that weighed 321 grams net, hidden within her underwear.
Additionally, 10. Indian nationals were detained and discovered in possession of 6.199 kg of gold, worth Rs 4.04 crore, “concealed in the rectum, on the body, and inside the baggage,” according to the release, which did not provide any additional information. Two of the nationals were traveling from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and the other one was from Bahrain, Doha, Riyadh, Muscat, Bangkok, and Singapore.
It added that three of them were later taken into custody.
