Hans Raj Hans has not yet visited the Gidderbaha sector, infuriating the farmers

During his campaign, BJP candidate Hans Raj Hans has encountered objections from farmers in different sections of the Faridkot Lok Sabha seat. As of yet, Hans Hans has not visited the Gidderbaha Assembly sector in the Muktsar district. On March 30, the saffron party released its first list of candidates, announcing his candidacy for the reserved seat.

This parliamentary constituency has nine assembly segments, including Gidderbaha.

Gidderbaha has strong farmer unions, according to sources, and there may be some wild scenes here. “Most farmer unions in the state are fighting back against BJP candidates. The BJP candidate in Gidderbaha had certain planned programs, but these were subsequently postponed for various reasons, according to sources.

Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, the head of the PCC, has served as this segment’s MLA for three terms in a row.

The current Member of Parliament for Faridkot is the well-known folk musician Mohammad Sadique of the Congress. He received 4,19,065 votes in 2019 and defeated his closest opponent, Gulzar Singh Ranike of the SAD, by a margin of 83,256 votes. The Congress has not yet declared who will represent this constituency in Congress.

Actor-singer Karamjit Anmol, a close aide to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has been nominated by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Gidderbaha resident Amit Kumar, a BJP supporter, stated: “Hans Raj Hans of Faridkot has been the party’s nominee for about three weeks. It’s surprising that he hasn’t visited this part at all so far.

Sunil Kumar, a resident of Gidderbaha, said, “I believe the BJP candidate is relying only on the Modi factor.” But if he wants to succeed, he will really need to put in a lot of effort. Manpreet Singh Badal, the head of the BJP, had earlier been visiting this seat, but he hasn’t been campaigning recently for health-related reasons.

The BJP ran in the state’s Assembly elections in 2022 in cooperation with the Punjab Lokhit Congress (PLC), which was headed by former chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. However, Om Parkash Babbar, a BJP politician running for the PLC in Gidderbaha, had only received 391 votes. No major BJP alliance leader had campaigned here at that point either.

“It is a fact that our party’s candidate has not yet visited this segment,” said Om Parkash Babbar, the BJP’s convener for the Gidderbaha constituency. His schedule was set twice, but for various reasons, he was unable to attend. We are now wrapping up his programs once again, and he should get here in two to three days.
