Highway warnings are issued by Delhi Police due to two important sporting events on February 25 and 26. Examine the routes

New Delhi: The public is being informed about the diversions and limits that will be in place in various portions of south, central, and north Delhi districts by means of two traffic advisories that the Delhi Traffic Police have issued for two distinct major events that are set to take place in the nation’s capital on Sunday and Monday. The first events on Sunday starting at 4 am are the Paris Olympics 2024 qualifying series, the 9th New Delhi marathon, and the 43rd national championship marathon. The second event is the yearly Ijtema at Shahi Idgah in north Delhi, which is scheduled to begin on Sunday evening and end at around 11:00 a.m. on Monday.

At 4.15 am on Sunday, the Delhi Athletics Association (DAA) will launch its first event from Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium’s Gate No. 1. This comes with the backing of NEB Sports and the sanction of the Athletics Federation of India. Three distinct events have been planned: a national full and half marathon, a 10-kilometer run, and a 5-kilometer run. Each event will have its own designated course. Both marathons will begin at stadium gate number one and end at the same location after runners go towards Janpath and Jaswant Singh roundabout in downtown Delhi via C-Hexagon and Kartavya Path.

The 10 km run will start from the west block of JLN Stadium, go to The Blind School on Mathura Road, and then return to the starting point. In a similar vein, the 5 km run will start on the west block of the stadium, go to the Aurobindo Marg junction, and then finish back on the stadium’s west block.

Vehicle traffic on the run’s routes will be restricted on Sunday between 4 and 10 a.m., according the traffic police advise. Nonetheless, there will be ongoing assistance for emergency vehicle transit. Depending on the location and number of participants, cross-vehicle movement at intersections on the routes will be permitted, the advise said:
