Hospitals in Haryana

The appalling conditions of hospitals in Haryana provide a somber image of a system in severe need of change and care. Recent studies make it clear that the public’s requirements are not being met by the health infrastructure. In addition to causing suffering to continue, this carelessness undermines public confidence in the organizations set up to protect public health.

The Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Hospital in Faridabad is a prime example of incompetence and poor administration. Two years after it opened and significant expenditures later, the hospital is still mostly closed and does not provide critical emergency and inpatient care. Even though outpatient services are available, their ability to serve as a referral center is severely limited and their function is badly undermined by the absence of comprehensive care facilities.

Patients at the PGIMS in Rohtak have to wait for hours on end and witness chaotic situations since there is a serious scarcity of medical and paramedical personnel. Vulnerable people thus face difficulties and delays in getting even basic medical treatment. In the meantime, Karnal’s lack of TB medications highlights the structural difficulties with drug distribution and acquisition.

The scarcity of necessary medications is posing a challenge to TB patients, who are already dealing with the difficulties of managing a chronic condition. This endangers not just personal health outcomes but also public health initiatives meant to stop the spread of infectious illnesses.

It’s time to take coordinated action to revitalize Haryana’s healthcare system and guarantee that patients have access to high-quality care. The paucity of workers has to be addressed immediately, and the timely delivery of necessary medications needs to be guaranteed. Furthermore, in order to stop the waste of public dollars and resources, there has to be more accountability and openness.
