At least 100 households are left homeless after a fire in a slum neighborhood

At least 100 households were rendered homeless on Wednesday due to a large fire that started in a slum in the Shahbad dairy area, as reported by Delhi Fire Services authorities.

At 1:45 p.m., we got a call about the fire. One of the authorities said, “We also reported the event to the police, and ten fire engines were summoned to the scene.

Although the fire is still being contained, no injuries have been recorded as of yet.

We still need to determine what started the fire. Nevertheless, according to the authorities, a large number of the LPG cylinders stored within the shanties caught fire as well, creating a scenario akin to an explosion. They said that from a distance, one could see thick, black smoke rising from the fire.

One person claimed to have lived here for more than five years with his family.
