Phase 1 voting on 102 constituencies spread over 21 states is scheduled to occur on Friday, April 19, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Up until Wednesday, the election campaign was in full flow.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry are among the states and union territories that will hold elections in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

The Election Commission has taken a number of actions to encourage voters to cast their ballots.

Voters need to provide certain documentation in order to cast their ballots. Voter slips were being sent to eligible voters’ homes by the Election Commission of India. Not all eligible voters, nevertheless, have gotten their voter slips.

Is a voter slip required?
A frequently asked question is, “Can I still cast a vote in the elections without a slip?” as many voters have not yet received their voter slips.

Yes, is the response. If an eligible voter’s name appears on the electoral roll, they may cast their ballot without the slips.

Using electoralsearch.eci.gov.in, the Election Commission of India’s official website, voters may verify whether their name appears on the electoral register.

To see the voter list, voters must first pick their state and then input the Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) Number found on the voter card.

Voters who are listed in the electoral register but lack a voter ID card or voter slip may still cast a ballot by presenting another form of official identification that the ECI recognizes, such as an Aadhar card, PAN card, passport, etc.

Is a voter slip what?
A voter information slip (VIS), sometimes known as a voter slip, is a document that the Election Commission of India (ECI) issues. Voter information includes name, age, gender, assembly constituency, polling place location, and polling day and hour.

It acts as a voter’s guidebook and identification of legitimate voters when carried by a voter on election day.

Voters may now easily search for their names in the Electoral Rolls online thanks to the ECI’s handy methods. As a result, you may conveniently download voter slips and see your voter ID credentials without any difficulty.
