IMD problems Several areas in Maharashtra are on a yellow alert today

In the Maharashtra districts of Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nashik, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow advisory for Friday.
The IMD posted on ‘X’ that “Western Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat to Face Heavy Downpour in Next 3 Days.”

In a number of locations in India, including north Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, the meteorological office has forecast light to moderate rainfall along with moderate to severe thunderstorms.

Recent satellite imagery reveals moderate to strong convective clouds over areas of the Northwest, which might result in light to moderate rainfall activity, sporadic intense periods, and moderate to severe thunderstorms and lightning. #GujaratRegion, #MadhyaPradesh, #Odisha, #GangeticWestBengal, #Jharkhand, #Assam & #Meghalaya, #Nagaland, #Manipur, #Mizoram, #Tripura throughout the night,” the IMD stated in a series of postings on ‘X’.

Since Thursday morning, Mumbai has had significant rainfall, and more is predicted for Thursday night, according to the Met Office.

Since 8:30 a.m. IST, heavy rain has been observed in Mumbai and surrounding areas. #Mumbai Rainfall since 08:30 IST (in millimeters) “Light to moderate rainfall is likely over Mumbai during the nighttime #Santacruz 92.5; #Colaba 43.6; #Dahisar 71.0; #Juhu 84.0; #Rammandir 88.0; #Matunga 75.5; Sion 75.2,” the IMD said.

The meteorological office had earlier on Thursday predicted mild to moderate rain in portions of Uttar Pradesh. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana were also expected to see mild to moderate rainfall.
