In a terror investigation, the NIA searches nine locations in Jammu and Kashmir

In a case connected to terrorist activities, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched nine places in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday.

As part of a case the agency filed in 2022, the continuing raids, which started early on Monday, are being carried out in coordination with security authorities at a number of locations connected to people suspected of being terrorists.

Based on particularized information obtained about individual suspects who were living in Srinagar, the anti-terror organization began the searches.

The search was carried out about a month after the two suspects in the Kokernag (Jammu and Kashmir) encounter case were charged by the NIA.

According to reports, the suspects in this case are associated with The Resistant Front (TRF), a branch of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Both LeT and TRF are banned organizations that have actively encouraged young people in Kashmir to join terrorist groups under the pretext of “jihad.”

The two groups utilize social media sites like YouTube channels, Telegram, and Twitter to spread their message and entice young people without jobs to commit acts of terror.

The biggest terrorist organization, LeT, was founded in the early 1990s and is now working to revive the network in the Anantnag region.

It is operating in the Jammu and Kashmir area via a number of offshoots.
