In Gujarat’s Bhuj, a BSF agent was ‘honey trapped’ by a Pakistani woman agent and detained

In Gujarat’s Bhuj, a member of the Border Security Force was detained for reportedly giving a female Pakistani agent vital information.

Nilesh Balia, a contract worker with the BSF in Gujarat’s Bhuj, was reportedly detained for allegedly revealing classified information, according to the news agency PTI.

According to the report, Balia, the accused, has a 12th-class diploma and has spent the last five years working as a peon at the Central Public Works Department’s electrical department office at the BSF headquarters in Bhuj.

It said that the state Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), who apprehended him on Friday, will present him to a judge and ask for his detention.

Sometime in January 2023, Balia spoke with the Pakistani agent and gave her access to various private papers involving the electrification of BSF buildings that were being built and those that were already standing, as well as certain data pertaining to civil departments, according to the report.

It further said that the lady spoke with the suspect on WhatsApp.

She “honeytrapped” him and got him to provide private information in exchange for cash, it added.

“The agent introduced herself as ‘Aditi Tiwari’ and said that she was employed for a private company. She informed Balia that she required the knowledge for her work and that she would pay him for it.

It further said that throughout the “love affair,” the accused, who represented himself to the lady as a computer operator, gave her access to private information in exchange for payment.

It said that he received a total payment of Rs 28,800 via UPI transactions.

The ATS will examine his bank and phone records and look into his other contacts, it was further said.

The ATS kept him under surveillance and examined his phone records and bank accounts after receiving a tip about his actions, according to the statement, before summoning him in for interrogation.
