JEE scores will be used for Delhi University’s BTech admission; candidates must get a minimum PCM score of 60%

In the forthcoming academic year 2023–2024, Delhi University (DU) plans to offer three new Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programs. According to university authorities, the registration period for these courses will probably start by the end of June. Each of the three programs in computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and electrical engineering will get 120 of the 360 seats available throughout the three courses.

Notably, the prerequisites for admission to these BTech courses will be different from those for the university’s other undergraduate degrees. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 scores of prospective students will be used to determine their admissions to B.Tech programs, even if the registration site for other courses has already been made available. This will be different from other applicants who would submit Common University Entrance Test (CUET) results for consideration of admission.

Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh presented the requirements for potential applicants, according to Indian Express. This qualifying requirement states that applicants must have a combined score in mathematics, physics, and chemistry of at least 60% or higher. Successful candidates must also have completed their Class 12 from a recognized board while studying English as a subject. The JEE Mains rankings will be used to make admission choices. The importance of this entrance test has been emphasized particularly for aspiring Delhi University B.Tech candidates.

The registration site for aspiring engineering students hoping to enroll in Delhi University’s B.Tech programs is expected to launch in the last week of June. It is important to mention that there will be a Rs. 1,500 registration and counseling charge.

In addition, the institution has made a great effort to assist students from low-income households by waiving fees. The goal of this choice is to provide low-income students at the university the chance to pursue a B.Tech degree. According to the article, the yearly cost of the B.Tech programme would be Rs 2.16 lakh. This information was provided by a member of the university’s executive committee. Students from households earning up to Rs 4 lakh annually, however, would not be required to pay any tuition. Students whose families earn between Rs. 4 lakh and INR. 8 lakh per year will pay a subsidized charge that is half of the regular price. Higher-income students, on the other hand, will have to cover the whole cost.
