Two major requests from Pangi people can only be met by the BJP, claims Janak Raj

According to BJP lawmaker for Bharmour, Dr. Janak Raj, the two main demands of the people living in Pangi Valley are the building of the Chehni Tunnel and the creation of Pangi as a distinct legislative assembly region. These requests can only be met by the Central Government, headed by the BJP.

While running for office in the isolated Pangi villages, he said that the departing Central Government had already started the process of implementing these requests’ roadmaps. He said that because the state government has no authority over these requests, Congress’s hollow pledges are insufficient.

The BJP lawmaker made a jab at Congress president and Mandi MP Pratibha Singh, claiming that the sitting MP never brought up the matter once in her term.

He claimed, “After winning the byelection, the MP made no effort to understand the grievances of the people,” in an attempt to ascertain the proportion of money the MP had set aside for Pangi development projects.

He predicted that the PM would lead the government for a third term in a row and that the BJP would win resoundingly in both the Himachal Pradesh and national elections.

He intensified his criticism of the Congress, claiming that she would not have needed to look for votes under her husband’s name for her son Vikramaditya Singh, the Mandi-based Congress contender, if the MP had completed the job on the ground.

Additionally, he said that throughout the Congress administration, not a single development project was initiated in Pangi. The public’s issues remained unresolved, and the state of the roadways was becoming worse.

He said that in October, the state administration raised the price of firewood, leaving people to endure the cold without providing the promised subsidies.
